Papa Aroha is a snapper fishing paradise, we are fishing within minutes of leaving the beach, amongst the breathtaking scenery of our offshore islands, bring your own gear and bait. We offer two boat ramps for convenient all-tide launching, along with a sheltered launching area for added ease.

Bring your own boat or kayak to explore the islands, or a rod to go off the beach or rock fishing. Visit the gannet colonies, maybe see some penguins or dolphins, view a Mussel Farm, offshore sea caves and seabirds.

Safe swimming at the pebbly beaches offers a unique coastal experience. The crystal-clear waters, framed by lush native bush are perfect for a refreshing dip. While the smooth pebbles add a rustic charm, wearing water shoes is a good idea for comfort. These beaches are quieter than sandy shores, providing a tranquil spot to connect with nature.

Fresh air, spectacular views and walks to suit every level of fitness are on offer to those keen to explore The Coromandel on foot. Many of the walks are on conservation land, so they are well-maintained and signposted.
